Gesture Drawing Class
Age: 16+
Fee: $40 per 2 hour drawing session
Time: Saturdays 9-11am

This figure drawing course teaches the skills and knowledge required to succeed as an animator or illustrator. In this course students will be learning the mastery of the dynamic human figure in short and medium length poses. Part of the class time will be spent drawing fairly quick poses without over measuring the proportions and a single correctly drawn line will be all that is needed to suggest a leg or an arm. However, most of the class time will be spent drawing the figure in a manner where proportions and line work is the most essential. Students will learn the principles of proportion, measuring and mapping, angles, the use of straight and curved lines, geometric shapes, and important landmarks to help them execute the faster length poses with more accuracy and conviction. Class will include individual critiques to help students improve their gesture drawing skills. Perfect class to take if you are trying to get into animation or illustration program in college. You'll also receive help with filling your sketchbooks. Any age (preferably 16 and older) or skill level.
